A file toolbox that respects your time and your files
Zama Tools exists because converting a file should take seconds, not an afternoon of installing desktop software or fighting with a site that wants your email address before it will give you a PDF back.
We run 98 tools across 7 categories. Every one of them works in your browser, on your phone as well as your laptop, without an account and without a watermark stamped across your output.
How it actually works
Some tools — the calculators, formatters, encoders and generators — never send anything anywhere. They run entirely in your browser, so your text and your images stay on your device.
The rest need real processing power. Those files are uploaded over HTTPS to an isolated workspace on our server, handed to industry-standard engines (FFmpeg for media, LibreOffice for office documents, Ghostscript and Poppler for PDFs, ImageMagick for images) and then deleted automatically. We do not read them, index them, train anything on them or keep a copy.
What we care about
Speed
Jobs run on a queue with real progress reporting, so a big video does not block a one-second image resize.
Privacy
Random filenames, no public storage directory, signed download links and automatic deletion on a timer.
Honest output
No watermarks, no deliberately degraded quality, no "upgrade to download" wall on the free plan.
Everywhere
The same interface works on a desktop, a tablet and a phone — including the drag-and-drop areas.
Where the money comes from
Free usage is paid for by unobtrusive advertising and by people who need more than the free allowance and choose a paid plan for bigger files, higher daily limits, priority processing and an ad-free interface. That is the whole business model — we do not sell data, because we do not have any to sell.
