Privacy policy

1. What we collect

We keep the minimum needed to run the service:

• Files you upload — stored temporarily so we can process them, then deleted.
• Job metadata — which tool you used, file sizes, timestamps and whether the job succeeded or failed. This is how we show your history and find bugs.
• A hashed IP address — we store a one-way hash, never the address itself, purely to enforce fair-use limits and stop abuse.
• Account details — only if you choose to register: your name, email address and a securely hashed password.
• Preferences — a cookie remembering whether you prefer light, dark or system theme.

2. Files that never leave your device

Tools such as the JSON and XML formatters, Base64 and URL encoders, counters, calculators, converters, generators and the image colour picker run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is transmitted to us, so there is nothing for us to store.

3. Files we do process

Conversions that need real processing power — PDFs, office documents, images, audio, video and archives — are uploaded over an encrypted HTTPS connection into an isolated workspace with a random, unguessable name. That workspace is not reachable from the public web. Results are served through short-lived signed links tied to your session or account.

Uploads, outputs and the workspaces themselves are removed by an automated cleanup task no later than 6 hours after the job was created — including jobs that failed or were abandoned halfway through.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use a session cookie (required for security and CSRF protection) and a preference cookie for your theme. If analytics is enabled on this installation it is configured to collect aggregate page usage only, and never receives your filenames or file contents.

5. Advertising

Free usage may be supported by advertising. Ad networks may set their own cookies under their own policies. Paid plans remove ads entirely. Advertisers never receive your files or filenames.

6. Legal basis and your rights

We process your data to deliver a service you asked for, and to protect that service from abuse. You can ask us to export or delete your account and its history at any time by emailing support@zamatools.com. Files are already on an automatic deletion timer, so there is rarely anything left to remove.

7. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
